How to Generate Electricity. How to Generate Electricity, offered by Texas Utilities (TU) for grades 5-12, provides information and diagrams on the different ways of producing commerical electricity.
Insects Hotlist. Insects Hotlist from the Franklin Institute Science Museum contains a variety of resources for teaching about insects for students and teachers in grades K-12. The site provides classroom activities, images, and background information on insects.
Interactive Patient. The Interactive Patient allows students in grades 5-12 to simulate an actual patient encounter by examining an imaginary patient who complains of back pain. Students can ask him questions, take x-rays, make a diagnosis and prescribe medicine. Though mainly designed for med students by Marshall University School of Medicine in West Virginia, it's an ideal way to introduce younger students to the world of medicine.
Intellicast. Intellicast, sponsored by MSNBC, provides four-day weather forecasts for the major cities in the U.S.A. and around the world. In addition, the site features Dr. Dewpoint where students in grades 5-12 can ask the good Dr. Dr. Joseph D'Aleoor, a meteorologist, a weather question, survey monthly almanacs, read the archives of past questions, react to papers by the doctor, or use a convenient formula to convert temperatures found in the questions section.
