Academy of American Poets. The Academy of American Poets sponsors the National Poetry Month, poetry readings, high school workshops, and other programs designed to build a larger, more devoted readership for this essential part of our culture. The site features poetry exhibits of famous poets and an index of all the poets who are currently listed on this site, with bios, photos, and poems. American Library Association (ALA). The American Library Association (ALA) is the oldest, largest, and most influential library association in the world. For more than a century, it has been a leader in defending intellectual freedom and promoting the highest quality library and information services. The Association for Library Service to Children (ALSC) Division of the ALA offers information about award-winning books and literature resources for teachers in grades preK -8.
Assembly on Literature for Adolescents (ALAN). The Assembly on Literature for Adolescents (ALAN), a special-interest group of the National Council of Teachers of English, features an online version of the The ALAN Review, a journal published three times a year for middle and high school teachers and students.
California Language Arts Content Standards. The California Language Arts Content Standards represent a strong consensus on the skills, knowledge, and abilities all students should be able to master at specific grade levels during the school thirteen-year career. Each standard describes the content students need to master by the end of each grade level.

English Discourse is a non-profit e-journal intended for purposes of teaching and research. They publish three separate editions: English Discourse in Composition, English Discourse in Research and English Discourse in Literature.

International Reading Association (IRA). National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE). The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) is the leading professional organization for improving the teaching of English and language arts at all grade levels. The site presents relevant information of value to K-12 classroom teachers.
National Writing Project (NWP). The NWP is teacher-centered with teachers, from the primary grades through the university, working together as colleagues in a collaborative university-school program to improve student writing and the teaching of writing in our nation's classrooms.
NEA. The National Education Association (NEA) is America's oldest and largest organization committed to make public schools and classrooms a better place for teaching and learning. SCORE: California Language Arts. The Schools of California Online Resources for Education (SCORE) Language Arts home page is intended to reflect the California English Language Arts Framework for the K-12 curriculum. The site provides online student projects, lessons plans, frameworks/standards, assessment information, the California Reading Initiative, and other teacher resources.

The Texas Center for Reading and Language Arts is a coordinated system of teacher education and professional development in the area of language arts for the state of Texas.
